Buy local, seasonal produce and you’ll most likely be exposed to a wider variety of foods than the same old fruit and vegetables you’re used finding at the supermarket. Eating seasonally makes mealtime more interesting. Also, because the food hasn’t traveled for days to get to your town it will be fresher, and you’ll get the most nutritional bang for your buck.
 

Take a Cooking Class

Knowing how to prepare healthy meals is an important aspect of sticking to a healthy diet. Taking a cooking class or two can be a great way to learn the basics of food preparation. Being confident in your abilities in the kitchen will go a long way toward ensuring you skip the drive-through and cook your own healthy meals at home more often.

Grow Your Own

Even if you don’t have a lot of space available, it is relatively simple to grow tomatoes, peppers and fresh herbs in small containers. Having your own fresh produce available at home will let you be spontaneous with your cooking and add flair and flavor to any dish.
 

Expand Your Tastes

Experiment with and explore flavors from other cuisines and aim to not eat the same meal more than once a week. Simply adding more variety and new foods to your diet will keep you interested in your meals instead of dreading eating the same chicken dish for umpteenth time.
