On Exhibit
Raised in Davenport, IA along the Mississippi River I grew up in a free spirited and open-minded house. This supportive and positive environment helped nurture my creative potential. When I was young I often found enjoyment in finding objects with sharp contrast like a dark corner of a building against the crisp blue sky. These thoughts and processes led me to continue my artistic development in college. I earned a BFA degree with an emphasis on painting and printmaking at Iowa State University. During my college years I started experimenting with mixed media and texture in my paintings. Amazing things happen to color when combined with the characteristics of three dimensional texture on an otherwise indistinct and flat surface.
Over the years my path has taken me through many changes in life and in art but one thing has remained constant. The need for color and visual interest in life is paramount. I have shown paintings in Sacramento, CA and throughout the Phoenix Metro area over the last 10 years. From Salon Bela Pelo to the Atlas Bistro to an apartment building hallway on First Fridays, my artwork has no bias. I get much love, support and inspiration from my wife Ling and my son Ames for which most of my finished work is dedicated.
Love life to love art.
